SEO SOP: One Episode Into Twelve Link Assets

This is the internal SOP, written down. One recorded interview, roughly sixty minutes of audio, run through a fixed sequence that produces twelve distinct publishable assets. No part of it requires a production team.

The Twelve Assets Hiding In One Recording

A fan-out diagram from a single audio file to a recap article, SOP, deck, ebook, quote cards, clips and syndication posts.

From a single recording:

  1. A cleaned, speaker-attributed transcript.
  2. A long-form recap article on the show site.
  3. A second-angle recap for a related property.
  4. Show notes with timestamps for the podcast host.
  5. A YouTube description and title set.
  6. An SOP post distilling the single most executable play.
  7. A slide deck.
  8. A companion PDF or eBook.
  9. Quote cards at three aspect ratios.
  10. Short vertical clips.
  11. A newsletter issue.
  12. A syndicated post the guest publishes under their own name.

Twelve is not a stretch target. It is what falls out of the transcript if the sequence is followed.

Sequencing The Build So Nothing Blocks

The transcript is the blocking dependency for everything else, so it is done first and done properly — speaker headers verified, not smoothed. Everything downstream quotes from it, which means a sloppy transcript propagates misattribution into eleven assets.

After the transcript: recap articles, then quote cards (they need the verified quotes), then the deck and eBook (they need the article structure), then clips, then syndication. Newsletter and show notes can run in parallel at any point after the recap.

The one rule that matters: nothing that carries a quotation mark ships before the quote has been checked against the transcript with the speaker header above it read.

Which Assets Actually Earn Links

A ranked chart of repurposed asset types by observed link-earning rate, with guest recaps and quote graphics at the top.

Not evenly distributed. In practice the link-earning ranks roughly like this:

High. The guest recap article (the guest links to it), the syndicated post on the guest’s own domain, and quote graphics that get reused by third parties with attribution.

Medium. The SOP post, because it is the piece other practitioners cite when explaining the method. The deck and eBook, because they get embedded.

Low but strategically useful. Clips and social posts. They rarely earn a link directly; they earn the next booking, which earns the next set of links.

The tactic write-up is podcast to content repurposing.

Handing The Guest A Reason To Link Back

Do not ask for a link. Hand over an asset they would otherwise have to commission: a finished article about their own expertise, written in their voice, that they can publish on their own site with the URL sent back to you.

That single change — delivering a publishable asset instead of requesting a favour — is the difference between a ten percent and a majority response rate. The full process is documented in our eight-step podcast content process.

Running The SOP Without A Production Team

Time budget for one episode, solo: sixty minutes recording, forty-five minutes transcript verification, two hours on the primary recap, ninety minutes across deck and eBook, thirty minutes on cards and clips, thirty minutes on outreach. Call it six to seven hours per episode.

Do one episode end-to-end before you attempt a cadence. The bottleneck is never recording — it is the verification pass, and that is the step you must not compress. If you would rather not run it in-house, that is what the podcast-powered link building service exists for.
