I came across a pattern of several SEO experts this morning posting about quick and easy wins that are popular right.
I thought I’d share them, and add my own quick list. (Note where these lists overlap!)

-Utilizing FAQ Schema
-Optimizing Title Tags
-Researching + Building Out Topical Clusters
-Optimizing Highest Traffic Pages Load Time
-Building Missing Foundational Links (Social Profiles, Citations, etc.)

Jeremy’s 2026 Refresh: The Boring Wins Held Up, the Gimmicks Didn’t
When I wrote this in 2022, FAQ schema was the number-one “quick win” on practically every list here, mine included. That win is gone. Google now only shows FAQ rich results for well-known, authoritative government and health sites, so bolting FAQPage markup onto your blog posts buys you nothing in the SERP anymore. The real lesson isn’t “schema is dead” — it’s that any tactic whose entire value was gaming a SERP feature has a short shelf life. Structured data still matters, but in 2026 its job is feeding machines clean context, not chasing a rich-result lottery.
What actually held up? Every boring, durable item that showed up on multiple 2022 lists: internal linking, topical clusters, fast-loading pages, and genuinely useful, human-first content. Those weren’t gimmicks then, and they’re your moat now, because the same signals that satisfy Google also feed AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity. Brittany Trafis framed it perfectly on the podcast: AI search isn’t “SEO 2.0” — it’s the same fundamentals under new pressure. If you want a current, no-fluff checklist, start with the SEO tactic library and skip anything that smells like a 2022 schema hack.
