Your blog post should be long enough to thoroughly answer both the primary topic or “question” that’s posed by the topic as well as any relevant sub-topics. So when you’re thinking about how many words your blog post should be, the answer is never a specific number in every case.
When the subject of your post is very narrow, then you can generally write somewhere from 400-1000 words, and provide an effective, thorough post that satisfies your searchers/reader’s intent. However, if you’re introducing a guide to a complex subject, chances are that you’re looking at a post with 1000 to 2000+ words in it for you to adequately cover the subject.
